I'm wondering what master cylinders off other bikes will be suitable for a KZ1000 running dual discs?

I've used those master cylinders off E-bay before sold by usa-motorcycles-inc. They look good for about a year and then the paint starts flaking, the fluid level glass (plastic?) gets foggy, etc.

Looking for something better, what are your suggestions?

I think it might be easier to use a later model master than fix up an old original KZ1000 master.

Here's a repost of Steell's post on KTOF about upgrading to dual discs.

OK. I already have dual discs though. Just looking for an good replacement master cylinder, wondering if a ZX6, ZX10, ZRX or other master would work well on a KZ1000.

The basic criteria: 7/8" bars, mount angle, dual disk (or single disk), mirror orifice. Some modern mcs don't have the orifice.

Plus you should be looking to run same BORE SIZE mastercylinder otherwise different braking is result. Steell has good info there IMO.

95-96 ZX1100E (GPz1100) has a master cylinder with mirror mount hole and that looks quite similar to the late seventies KZ750 and 1000. And the best is, this exact same master cylinder is used on a bunch of Kawasakis up to at least 2002, and rebuild kits are easy to find. And they're cheap on eBay.
And they work on low to medium bars.

What's not to like?? :P
