Z1R tires... was created by 300kph
Are the Bridgestone Spitfire 100/ 90 18 for Front and the 130/90 18 to the Rear a good set to replace the Dunlop 110 / 90 x 18 and the skinny rear Dunlop 4.24 / 85 x 18 (This is for a stock 78 Z1R

Was hoping to find raised white letter for a funky look but they only make the 110 and 120's in RWL

Will the tread pattern look OK? Is it a decent handling tire?

Wanted to stick with Dunlop as the front is a decent looking tire but the rear looks too puny.

I have will probably sell the unused matched set of Dunlops. Any purists want the pair?

I'd go with Avon Road Riders, or Bridgestone BT45's

Spitfires are ok, but far from handling like the above, they are ok for mileage but are not sticky at all. I'd avoid em if it was me.

Depends on your riding style- if you're going 300 kph, go with Avons. I've put 20,000 miles on Spitfires the last year without any problems.

Avon also has considered what bikes these tires they make for our old size rims go on...so the profile and edge as well as tread pattern match the bikes/wheels/bodies/ lines...it is a perfect fit..on a r90s or kz1000 or ducati 750 F1 the avons are a match with the mags of that era... ..or spokes...my 900 looks even better with the avons...maybe not

That's cool, I didn't know that! I'm actually looking to spoon a pair of Avons on my Lesters when I return from my Alaska trip. Do you get considerably less mileage (total miles, not MPG) than with Spitfires?

they last fine and they are knee deep in the game...they sent a tricked out R1 to the quail ride for their silver anv. and the rep was there to tell old bike(i heard him)
owners that Avon thanks them and will continue to produce top quality rubber for their bikes and that Avon is committed to vintage bikes and vintage racing and it is a good market that they want to produce the top rep tire ......i was impressed...plus they $$$/sticky/miles/looks***** are the best.....

I have the spitfires on my 1075 and they don't hook up for shit! I was just gonna ask who makes the stickiest tires in a 140x16 for the rear and a 100x90x19 for the front.

i just read some interesting stuff about Shinko MC tires (sp) previously yokahama.... japan co.....Asian (china ? korea?) outsource....high test/high tech/new stuff always coming/price....and!!!!!!! supposed to have a rep for quick sticky tires in the street line up ..... wear out fast....but some sub-bike-race- segments like em ...not in our size i bet and i doubt they would see my MKII rims no matter how much the quality is promised/write ups.. ...they would be fun on a race/beater/ project??????
