I agree; I would replace both sprockets and the chain. They wear together and replacing one without the other causes premature wear on the new part. Get x-ring or o-ring chain; cheap chains are not a bargain. Also, you should use a new lock washer on the engine sprocket when you do this. This is recommended in the manual and is cheap insurance. Chain lube should be applied on the new chain and then about every 300 miles. I've used many different lubes and like Maxima Chain Wax (see link below) the best. Many bike shops carry it. Also, below is a link to an easy way to hold the engine sprocket when trying to loosen the nut. Ed

Looks like a new headlight, chain, front and rear sprocket are in order. I have no choice but to wait until pay-day.

If you can track down one of these headlights I believe you will be pleased. They are a direct plug in replacement sealed beam type, but they are Halogen so they're brighter than stock. I've used a number of brands over the years including H4 reflectors and various H4 bulbs, but these Wagner sealed beams have lasted much longer than the others in my bike. I noticed your broken bulb was Sylvania, I had used them twice and was dissapointed both times in how quickly they burned out; I don't think they can handle much vibration. Ed

This inexpensive spray chain lube available at Lowes has been doing an excellent job on my bikes and doesn't fling off.
And it's cheap enough to apply liberally as a combo cleaner-lube.
I use it on lots of things, and will likely never again buy another can of over-priced dedicated motorcycle chain lube of whatever brand.
Good Fortune!
