Fork question was created by jramsey89
I have a wrecked kz550A that I'm trying to get going for a friend and the forks may be bent, if they end up being bent, are the forks for the 550A the same as the ltd? It seems like there's a lot more ltd forks on eBay than standard forks. If anyone knows what years are interchangeable that would help too. Thanks.

Also, if the forks are different, are different will the triple trees work from an ltd? Thanks again.

With conventional forks all you need to do is make sure both sets of forks use the same seal I.D., then they will fit in the clamps. Check the axles and wheel bearings too.

thanks for the info guys, not sure if the forks are even bent yet. It really looks like they just move at the top (as if the triple tree clamps were loose and one fork moved forward while the other went back) As for the trees, the upper clamp actually broke at the stem when I wrecked it so I'm not taking any chances there and just replacing the whole triple tree.

yeah, i have seen several trees. I'm just hoping the rest is good because I don't want to fork over the extra cash... (lame pun but I couldn't resist)
