You have to be careful with some of the racing wheels, they are not designed to take a pounding on the street. Hitting a pothole coould ruin your day.
Many years ago I ran a set of cast SMAC mag racing wheels on a street Z1 - and cracked the spokes hitting a curb at speed - scary to find 2 of 6 spokes cracked through.

Looking like they are not 2 piece rims. With a Kosman hub that used 8 holes for sprocket and 4 for disc.hal0tw0 wrote: So I finally got the wheels and my friend is letting my "borrow" them to mock up on my bike. Im excited the more I look at them. They make the bike look "chunkier" if that makes any sense...Im kinda diggin it just by standing the parts next to the bike.
The swingarm is boxed steel, chromed, and appears to measure out stock length wise, it has a 140 tire on it but I might be able to fit a 150/160.
I could work out a barter for them so I may just keep them
I can honestly say Ive never seen a set like this in person and I think it works cause its period correct in a way.
Let me know your opinions....good or bad
They do have street tires on them!!!
The CCI rims with Kosman hubs were for drag slicks. We used to call them tinfoil rims.
Very thin, had to mount slicks very carefully.
They look street worthy. Imagine all polished fresh and shiny.
I would use them.
I would like them  :woohoo:

he says he doesn't notice side winds pushing him around.
i also have a friend that has an ultra classic (h-d bagger) that has fat boy wheels and he would not keep up on a ride.when we stopped he said he thought he was getting a flat because his bike was moving around so much.no flat but it was windy.
i recently bought these wheels for the blue z1r they are pm wheels, they are pretty thick tho.
they are spun out (kinda like a dish pan)then fit together and welded down the inside where the spokes normally go.

Am I the only person who thinks that rear wheel has a bent rim? Look at the rim, right below the swingarm. Could just be the picture, but looks bent to me.
