I am in the process of installing a GS1100 swing arm on my 1976 KZ900.
Along with this swing arm I purchesed a 3.5 inch wide rim.
My question is how wide of tire will work with combination and will I need to offset my front sprocket?
Right now I am just starting to round up parts for this winter.
I have heard that it is not that hard of a job.
Right now I have a Kossman double clubfoot 6 inch over swing arm.
6 inch wide rear wheel with a 180 rear tire 3/8 offset in front.
I want something more ride friendly.
Thanks for the help.

i run a 130 about as wide as the wheel will allow with standard drive I'm wanting to go wtih the 180 tire what are your dislikes about it?? I am sure with some inginuity a 140-160 is an easy adaptation but thats a guess on my part.

I want to get back to a shorter swing arm, also I am using the stock blinkers.
The problem with this is when you hit a hard bump with shocks the tire hits the backside of the blinker stalk.
Are you running any offset on your front sprocket?
I do get alot of complements on the set up I just want to be able to enjoy riding it more.
It is great stop light to stop light but it doesn't like the turns as much.
Also are you using Suzuki rear shocks,I just recently put on brand new progressive shocks and hate to give them up.
Thanks for the help.

I have a 140 on mine with a 5.5 inch rim. I switched to a 530 chain and used a front sprocket spacer from z1ent. Not sure of the size I used but everything lined up.

I will be removing the complete rear end this winter and would be interested in selling it.
That would include the swing arm, wheel and tire, caliper and rotor, stainless steel brake line.
15 tooth offset front sprocket, sprocket support plate,35 tooth rear sprocket and chain.
18 by 6 inch wheel with 180 tire.
Everything would bolt right up.
I will take plenty of pics before I remove.
