about to get into a long one here i know, and i have searched and came up with this so far, the stem for a vn1500 has the same upper and lower dimensions, now does anybody know of a way to get overall dimensions, short of me finding someone with one and asking to take a tape to their bike and get a rough estimate. Im looking at a complete front end off one for a cpl reasons, main being oil and spring forks over air and oil, but also, detachable risers and 1" bars. Just leaves open more possibilities.

the normal method of switching front ends is to remove the 2 stems from the 2 dif trees. then u put the stem from your tree into the new doner tree. this way it bolts right up. u may have to machine a sleeve, to fit your stem into the new tree, if its diameter is smaller than the donors.

hijack isnt a problem, i found a nice cross refernce section on OHIO CAFE RACERS site (
www.ohiocaferacers.com/
) and go to tech tips. if im not mistaken the sems are the same size on hte two bikes i referenced, and *should* be a direct swap
