Ya it does look alot better with the top brace gone, But the reason I did the busa arm is because they fit the kz frame with nothing more than some pivot bolt reducer bushings. Pretty much all of the early model gsx-r's and all of the busa arms even the second gen busa fit the kz frames with just a simple bushing set up. It is a little more work with other late model sportbike arms.

very much appreciated.
documenting does add to the time.
i have not had my hands on a busa swinger,YET :woohoo: .
but now that you have explained it so thoroughly i will be lookin for one to mod.
so is the first gen's (1999-2007) the best for modding for a kz?

Thanks Leon. Ya the arm I did was a first gen 99-07 but the second gen busa arms are just about the same, the only real difference is gen 2 has smaller dog bone linkage bearings, instead of a brake bar for the rear caliper it uses a brake block on the inside of the arm and the caliper braket slips into it and the inside of the tubing when you cut the adjuster blocks off there is a webbing inside the arm where the first gen is hallow. Both are good for modding to the kz frame!

hal0tw0 wrote: how long is the stock busa swingarm?
A stock busa arm is 22.5 inches from center of the pivot tube to the center of the axle adjuster slot.
