USPS Shipping??? (Sore Subject) was created by z1kzonly
I now I have some problems already with the post office shipping.
Still no seat from Hawaii.
I have another in progress. I think.
I bought a samll wheel hub from a 550 honda for a homemade bike project on ebay.
From jeffscycleparts in WI.
Check out this transaction! Tracking # provided through ebay and paypal.
I am in Buffalo, NY.
Look at the route this has taken?
No wonder the USPS is going under!
WI. to TX. to CA. ???????? I live in New York.
I guess somebody in California is getting a wheel hub in the mail.

I'm currently having my one and only USPS problem, as they usually do fine.
Its FedEX that is the worry. Couldn't believe their story. Lost the package, then said oh can you get the shipper to ship another? We don't know what happened to it. Then 4 weeks later it is on the door step, completely unmolested, and Label in tact. Never even heard anything from the FedEx office. WTF??
USPS delivered after a Miss Route of my package, so just a day late + the Sunday. Went through the Local Sorting Facility Twice, ?????

I live in West Allis, WI. I have a subscription to a magazine coming from Bancroft, WI via USPS. The last two issues have been damaged (and they will not pay for them). I guess it has a lot of opportunities to get damaged: from Bancroft to Oshkosh WI, to Des Moines IA, to Chicago IL, to Milwaukee WI, then to West Allis WI.
USPS CAN SUCK IT! They deserve to go out of business.
Everytime it rains, my mail is wet.
They leave packages in the rain.
UPS used to be great--now they are slipping the way of USPS.
No problems yet with Fedex, but have heard some horror stories.

Fedex, UPS or USPS.
Based on percentages, the USPS are FAR worse at predictable delivery than UPS or Fedex. Having said that, Priority Mail is good value for money - we track delivery statistics - for domestic priority mail, we see an average of 2.4 to 2.5 days delivery - month over month. The issue is the exceptions - 90% of customers calling with packages late or missing are USPS shipments. The tracking is worthless. When it goes wrong, it can take a long time to resolve.

Well i havent had a missing part from the USA yet.
Jeff, your stuff got to me in about 2 weeks, about half of that time was spent in UK customs clearance.
A Shorai battery & ignition got here in 5 days!
The only problem i've had was a race loom/harness for my ZX6R from Attack Kawasaki went for a bit of a round trip, im surprised i got it at all! the sender didn't put my workplace name on it so the delivery driver was looking for a person in a post code (kinda like a zip code). It went to Cork, Ireland (300 miles away), then Belfast (beside my workplace), then Portadown (30miles away)..........i only got it because i rang the US shipping company who gave me their carrier name ovver here & they had it held as an undeliverable parcel held in their depot!

I started this topic also. This finally ended with the part showing up. It started in Wisconsin, went to Texas, then went to California. Last scan was 11-12. Saturday the 19th it showed up. With no scans since the 12th? And it was coming to New York State
So anything can happen I guess? Are the postal employees disgruntaled? Is there a 2 tier wage system with newer, under qualified employees? Are they mad that they are losing their jobs? Losing their jucy benifits? Is this the new stupification of America? I hope not.
I worked 35 years in the Teamster Union in shipping and logistics. I worked hurt, sick, sore, ontime, respectful, and had 2 spinal surgeries and could use a 3rd.
Sorry for the tangent.
Just my opinion.
But I took a picture of this lost package as the mail man dropped it off!

Don't feel bad! I bought $35.00 worth of parts from South Carolina and had to pay $39.00 worth of brokerage fees to UPS as that is there minimum for goods declared over $21.00. Post office doesn't charge it as they are government and make the rules, occasionally charging maybe $8.00 max. Package arrived one morning and nobody home so they left a notice with a crap adhesive to my door which I found stuck in a plant when I got home- strike one! I left some money with my daughter the next day and they didn't leave it as they don't take cash- strike two! I had to phone and go through hell the next morning to have them not deliver it so that I could pick it up at their depot after four but before seven that day or guess what- strike three and they send it back!
Only ever had one item never arrive at my house, from Ohio which no matter what, always takes 2 1/2 weeks to get here! I went to the post office which is 2 blocks from my house and the guy said, oh yea, we had a parcel for you arrive but it was sent back as we made two attempts to deliver it. I am in this place regularly and he couldn't pick up the phone and call me (as the address is on the freaking box!) I guess these people had it too good for too long!
Be happy you don't have to deal with the border.
David

i'm not really complaing just puzzled i bought swingarm last week off feebay it was shipped from reno nevada. UPS I live in kentucky but indiana is closer than any real city in KY it'a about 50 miles to evansville UPS terminal about an hour's drive.
I dont understand the logistics. indianapolis UPS HUB is HUGE it.s about 3 hours away. seems like using that facility would make more sense. reno to hodgins to indy to madisonville ky. but instead it went from reno to hodgkins to louisville 3 hours east to frankfort 4 hours southeast and the to madisonville. one extra stop farther away to get it to a small ups terminal in madisonville seems like a silly route. either way i will get my swingarm monday or tuesday (just didnt make sense with evansville being as close as madinsonville)
