That's exactly what I was hoping for. Can't wait to try it out, thanks! I'll try to post a picture of it for those souls as lost as me...

Don't know about hanging lower, but to my eye it truly does just stick out down there like a sore thumb, looking all gawd-awful and everything.
Would guess this is likely one of the main reasons folks with right-side-exit 4>1 exhaust systems prefer leaving off the center stand. More so than the weight factor.
The center stand is of course very handy for routine maintenance and for many repairs and procedures. And while touring, it is particularly missed for regular chain-lubing duties.
Hangs on the garage wall, with other "tools."
Good Fortune!

They sure are handy....even in the garage the bike seems to take up less room than when it's leaned over.
If the centerstand hangs low I will look into modifying that bracket a little or making another one used in a similar way but will allow the center stand to tuck in a little better.

If you do decide to take it off, watch out for that spring! It's an angry little devil when it comes off its perch!

That thing is unbelievably strong and we just can't get the leverage we need to pull it far enough. I'm afraid we're going to have to pull the rear wheel (or at least the chain) so we can rotate the stand up high enough to get the spring on. Is there another way?? Man that thing is tough....got our @sses kicked by a spring!

"Before trying to install the spring wedge coins between each coil of the spring. This will temporarily make the spring longer so it will be easier to install. Remove the coins after installation is complete."
I don't know how well that works, but I know I will try it if I ever need to install another one of those springs. If you try it please let us know if it helps. Ed
