I've just been told that the early KZ400 74/75 & Z1/Z1a/Z1b Z2-750 H1d/e/f -500 and H2b/H2c-750 and the S1b/S1c-250 and S3/S3a-400 all were fitted with a non locking cap.

Does anyone know it a 1977 KZ750 Twin & the early KZ400 twin share the same tank mechanism?

Been told that Z1 cap is different. I have purchased an aftermarket cap, don't want to have a different key, lock shop tell me they can remove the pins, then anything that fits in the key slot will open, just like some of the early locked caps, could use a screwdriver if needbe.
