I have an LTD1000 (K2) that has non-standard bars on it. I want to but some original bars for it & was wondering if the CSR750 bars from the same year (1982) are identical?
Seem to be able to find the CSR bars for sale, but having trouble locating an original set for the LTD
Thanks, Tony

Would say not "identical" because ---
Kawasaki.com says 1982 KZ1000-K1 (LTD) handlebars #46003-1070 are shared by the following 5 models:
KZ1000-K1 (LTD) (1981)
KZ1000-K2 (LTD) (1982)
KZ1000-M1 (CSR) (1981)
KZ1000-M2 (CSR) (1982)
KZ650-H2 (CSR) (1982)
And 1982 KZ750 CSR handlebars #46003-1098 are shared by the following 4 models:
KZ650-H3 (CSR) (1983)
KZ750-H3 (LTD) (1982)
KZ750-H4 (LTD) (1983)
KZ750-M1 (CSR Twin) (1982)
Lots of good info on kawasaki.com, including parts diagrams, part names, part numbers, models sharing same part, availability, etc. Here's a link for help with navigating the site and finding information.

I'm trying to see what other types of bars were on KZ's from the early 80's so I can change my current standard ones.
I really like these : www.bikepics.com/pictures/1812090/

Many riders enjoy the "superbike" style aftermarket handlebar.
When replacing a pull-back style with a lower bar, it's often necessary to replace the master cylinder, brake line, throttle cables and clutch cable.
Sometimes the master cylinder may be slanted off-vertical, but not recommended imo.

The previous owner has put some semi-western style bars on and everything's all squeezed on there. They are comfortable, but due to the cramped position of the indicators that hit the tank when you're turning tightly (not even full lock),they have to go. The cables are also too long and have alot of slack. The brake master cylinder is also on an incorrect angle as shown!
I'll start looking for the correct bars now that I have the correct information.
Thanks again

I have original bars from a 1982 KZ650 CSR, which should match the KZ1000s according to Patton's info but as Martin CSR said they are stupid ape hanger Harley things. I can send pictures if you wish.

I can tell you for a start that the cables are too long, the indicators hit the tank if mounted on flatter bars, and the stock Master Cylinder sits at an absurd angle. That's my experience anyway.
