hi kzr's
i've a question about tightening my front wheel.
is this done in two stages please:-
1) tighten the axel to a certain torque setting?
2) then tighten the clamp to another torque setting?
my dad just tighten both of them with a socket and
ring spanner. the wheel is stiff now!
FORKS
we've just discovered that the speedometer gear
is slotted into the wheel, however the last owner
must of broke the fork stop tang (small aluminium square 6mm approx)
is missing from the fork.
q) will the speedometer still work without
the fork stop tang please? or do we've
to gave a new stop put on the fork, somehow.
aluminium is terrible to braize, any ideas gang?
many thanks for your help Guru's

hi kzr
many thanks for very informative reply.
i've a stock pile of good parts for the 1980/81 kz750 ltd.
i was lucky enough to find a pair of 1983 ltd forks in
mint condition. if the speedo doesn't work, i will overhaul
the 1983's forks completely and replace my originals.
i've a good set of 1980 gauges; speedo and tach!
28,000 on the speedo, will fit other models.
many thanks for helping me!
