Can Anyone Identify These 36mm Forks?? was created by z1kzonly
Had these Jap bike 36mm Kaw tubes laying around.I just seen "OinkJ" sell a set on ebay.
I blasted an ugly goldish anodize or laquer finish off of them.
They are 31" long. 36mm tube. But has a smaller axle, 15mm. And the axle, collar nuts are smaller than the standard Z1 or KZ900 fork tubes. They have air over oil caps. Maybe CSR kz1100?
I put them in a set of KZ900 triple trees. Caliper holes are the wider KZ900 2-3/4" distance
Gonna put them on ebay. The tubes are perfect. Boots are real nice too.
Nice custom or project frontend. Or use for parts.
Thanks for any opinions.

They look like early 80's GPZ1100 or KZ1000J forks.

I'm pretty sure the 1000/1100 legs are 38mm. GPz 550 had 36mm legs, but I cannot say if the front end stems from one.

Look under the triple clamp for a 4 digit number. If there is one, add that number to the corresponding 5 digit prefix in the parts diagrams.

For instance, all top clamps start with "44039". So add the 4 digits to that prefix, "44039-XXXX" that's the part number, you can do a search with the whole number.

Thanks for the tips. I do have 1976 KZ900 Triple trees here. They have 36mm size tubes also.
I am just curious on the legs themselves.
This is just a hybrid set up of different parts.

Not 550 forks. 550 had leading axle.

Some 650 forks were 36mm, and had axles at the bottom, but the air caps at the top look newer.

The fork tops with the air valves could simply have been retrofitted.
