Upgrade to a KZ900 front end was created by ScottyZ900
Fellow Z900 modders
I found an '82 KZ1000 that is being parted out nearby and was wondering if there were any MAJOR hurdles to upgrading my stock KZ900 front wheel braking (and possibly suspension) system with the one off of the '82? Can I stick with the stock 900 Triples etc? or should I expect to replace the entire front clip in order to upgrade to double disk brakes?
Thanks in advance

Which 82 kz1000? Kawasaki made 5 kz1000's models in 1982.

That is a great point!
I should have known better than to post my question with such slim data.
It is a Craigslist listing so I will see if I can get more details from the seller. Perhaps I am better off to just upgrade the front brake assembly with either OEM or aftermarket dual disk front brake system. I know that other mods have stepped away from Kaw front ends too. Maybe there s a build thread in here that accounts updating the front end to modern standards of stop power?
Any suggestions or ideas from the intelligentsia in here would be greatly appreciated for manufacturers I should research.
Thanks

it depends somewhat on how far u want to go and how much u want to spend. u could just pick up a front rim cal and disk from a kz1000 or a whole front end off a kz or kzp. this keeps the font looking like the back. then u could add a kz rim , disk cal and master on the back.
if u change to a modern front end, u end up with a 17" wheel with a dif spoke pattern, so it looks out of place unless u do the back too.
