So I bought this tank and it smelled funny when I opened it.. It seems to be coated in red stuff??
It's def not rust.. I put water in it and the water came out clear..
I'm anxious to fill it with gas and run it. Any other ideas on what it could be?
Its a tank sealer, I think the red stuff is called red coate, its used to over coat rusty tanks, should be good to go, but would check pet cock, looks like they put it on pretty thick.
I work at a radiator shop and we use this product.It sounds like it is redcoat made by Damon Products. If it is red and has a rubber feel to it that`s it. Make sure it is set up good or it will plug everything up.
Looks like a winner! No more Kreem for me.
