76 KZ750B Twin
Rear Drum to Disk conversion was created by xbmxxx
Has anyone done it? I am working on a kz750G twin. I got it as a bare frame and have been piecing it together. I got a rear spoke wheel with a disk off ebay before I realized I was working with a drum bike. The swingarm differences wont matter, as I am running a custom hardtail and have a heim joint torque strut made. I got the master cyl and brake light switch from a junkyard. I know that I am going to have to fab a master cyl mount on the frame, as well as get a pedal from a disk bike. Are there any other frame differences or anything that are going to make this impossible?
The bike I am working on now is the G. Its the closest one in the pic.

Use the 76-79 750 rear caliper and hanger, it fits the disk and axle, then weld on a mount for the brake caliper stay. Easy stuff

Whoops, I knew I left something out.I got a caliper/hanger from the junkyard as well. And for the stay I got a heim joint I am just going to bolt through the hole that the long swingarm bolt used to go through. I wasnt sure if the disk pedal would just bolt right on.

some of the things in these pics I wont be using, they were just on there to test mounts and stuff. There are Z bars on the way and the clip ons are going to go on to the black kz in the OP

I used a 1980 drum brake rear wheel and swing arm on my 79 disk brake 750B for awhile, the foot pedal fit right on in place of the disk brake pedal.
