swingarm question?

what is a fair price to pay for a swingarm big enough to fit 180-200 tire, and prep for install with shock mounts installed on my 77kz? Asking because I am unable to do the work my self, and cant afford being rip off

You might want to consider a swingarm off of a ZRX . A 180-200 tire shd. fit in there if that's what you want. Hopefully some members will chime in that have done that mod (I know there are several guys who are running ZRX arms on their bikes here)

You will have to address the upper shock mounts, the swingarm pivot, the stock frame rear brake pedal pivot arm and I think the rear brake master cyl. Unless your running rearsets and even then you may have to do some tweeking to your rearsets. And the rear wheel alinement & chain clearance. I really like the look of the ZRX arm and thought of doing it to my 2nd bike

If you go for a new aftermarket swingarm your looking at @ $700-$800 to well over a few grand. Make sure you give them lots of info on your bike and what wheels your running ect. as I've read some real horror stories about guys having fitment issues after they receive the new custom arms.

There is more involved in fitting a 180 than just buying a swinger big enough. There's offset sprockets, clearancing the frame most likely for the chain to clear, doing a 530 conversion, new rear wheel, figuring out the spacing on the rear wheel and all the other little things that spring up on the way.

Try $400, made to fit, with new bearings installed and powdercoated in what ever length you want. $50 more gets chrome moly axle to suit. :whistle:

I had a guy offer me a complete set up out of california 200 tire bolt on set up for 700.00 he said he had over 1400.00 in it I believe him (chome swinger wheel)

I spent countless hours since I am on a modest budget scouring ebay and craigs list for my mod if I hadnt gone with the mono shock conversion my cost would've been around 600.00 plus shock mounts in swingarm wheel tire brakes sprockets chain etc...

my cost was offset considerably by selling my take off parts but i also paid alot of addtl shipping charges by piece mealing my parts.

I think you could probably get a swingarm from one of the guys on here and be riding with 1st class stuff under 1000.00

I figured mine, with just parts I'm in just over $1400 and that is putting the 2010 ZX6 frontend, brakes, wheels and tires with my arm and that includes what I get for a twin shock arm ready to go. Getting the back wheel and brake setup is fairly cheap, it was getting the front forks with matching front wheel and brake setup that cost.

This would have worked great for you. Don't know if you want to go this extreme for the street.
But it had the chromolly swing arm, 5/8 offset & bearing plate. 17/45 ratio gearing 530 size.
Clean lowered front end. Same mag wheel, LTD chrome fender.
It also had a raked neck with NY State title. You could have bolted all your stuff on to this chassis.
This one could have been had for $600 off of ebay last month.
