Forks Questions

All,

I have a few projects going. One project has to do with the forks.

Here's what I have:
'05 KLR650 forks
80's Spector forks
'75 Z1 Forks

The goal is the KLR length, width and diameter, with the Z1 or Spector front wheel. I think the Z1 and the KLR are the same tube diameter. My cheazy measuring tools make me think they are... Do any of you know if the Z1 lowers will fit on the KLR tubes? That would be too easy.

whyy not just swap bearings and use the klr fork as they are? might just need new spacers

The brakes on the KLR really stink.

I suppose I could weld a Z1-KZ caliper holder on the KLR forks. I was hoping not to weld on the KLR lowers, though.
