I'd like to mount my steering damper from my handlebars across the top of the steering assembly. Any thoughts on mounting possibilities that won't cost a month's rent, but still look and perform well?

Thought I might try to use my mirror mount on the clutch perch as a mounting point.

Thanks, that thread was actually what got me thinking a steering damper was a good idea in the first place. :) Unfortunately my fabbing/machining skills are matched only by my blossoming mechanical technique, (read lots, trot out to the bike, wrench for an afternoon, scream my triumph to the rejoicing villagers, notice the "extra" bits on the ground, swear, repeat).

I just like the idea of having the damper up and out of the way, I don't do a lot of tap-dancing on my handlebars, whereas I could easily see myself either booting the frame mounted style, or just plain getting it snagged on a low-flying raccoon, (trust me, I know my luck). I've seen pics of steering stem to handlebar mounts, just can't seem to find the things. Or figure out a reasonably hand-drawn facsimile.
