OK, I need a little help nailing down the year/model this front end was removed from. I actually followed the rules for once and posted first in the FNG forum. I am building a KH/H1 trackbike at present and am using the hub/discs from this front end I have been dragging around for years...I will also be using modified Ninja calipers and an RC30 master cylinder. I just have to fab spacers to make the 4 bolt hub work with the pre-KH500 forks (and because of pitching the speedo drive). The more I look at things the more I think I may want to use these lowers....and if not now then on a later project. But, I have no idea of what KZ the parts came from. The parts I have are shown in the pics.....I can't find the trees/master cylinder or fender. The fender was chrome and was "scalloped" for lack of a better term.....not the old rounded/smooth style. The rotors are 11 5/8" diameter and a shad over 5mm thick (I haven't ever seen this drill pattern but they look factory drilled?). The rim is a Kawasaki logo'd Enkei 18"x2.15" The only KZ's I came up with that used an 18" front mag were the Z1R or Police model and I don't think this came off either based on where I got it 25 years ago.....I could also be up against mix/match which I wouldn't be able to recognize. Thanks for the help and sorry its not a KZ I'm building, but, the parts from one are going to live on a very wonderful thing

I'm not 100% sure but pretty sure those are Z1R rotors. The Z1R's had a drill pattern specific only to them and the 18" wheel was a Z1R deal also, not saying the 18 wasn't used on others but it does kinda point to where they came from.

Thanks Les. I revisited my research as I had only looked at parts fiche for info. I did indeed find pics of "aqua velva blue" 1978 Z1R's with those rotors and wheel. But, I'm thinking the wheel had been transplanted onto the front of a different bike.....the Z1R's all had painted fenders and not the "styled" skinny front chrome fender? I also mispoke in the first post which may have been confusing....I said I was using the hub from this front end. I am using the spoked 4 bolt disc hub (which shares the KZ axle)from a KH500 with Sun rims. The KH had been wrecked so it had a older 6 bolt hub front end transplanted. If I can figure out bike the fork lowers came from (in order to get springs/seals/gold valves) I can use them and not have to "adapt" the KZ/KH axle/spacers to fit. I would just have to fab new adapters for the Ninja calipers.

I know the forks are considered the newer style if you will going by the type of cap they have. As to year and style you might go to Z1E's website and see what they have to say about identifying forks. At this point in the old kz's and H1/H2 bikes there are more than a few running around with swapped forks making it next to impossible to determine if that is really what they came off of.

Thanks for the responses!!....the info really helps. And you are correct, when you don't know a model in and out you just can't spot whats been swapped. Here is where she sits today just so you can see what I am up to.
