MKII Side Cover vs. ST side cover

Can anyone tell me if the right side cover is the same for the 79 MKII and the 79 and 80 ST shaft models? They sure look the same, but I have never been able to try one. I need another right side cover for my MKII and have seen way more ST covers for sale than MKIIs. I know the left side is different, but probably still fits. Anyone know about the right side for sure??

I don't know anyone on this site that has both an E model and a MKII:dry: , but if stories about the E model are true, the sidecovers will be model specific (along with half of the other parts).

I have both an E and a MKII but they are both buried under sealable covers and I can't get to them to compare. I can't say with 100% certainty, so didn't respond, but I think that the spacing of the mounts is different on the ST as well as the cover being larger, so I will say with 90% certainty that they will not interchange.

Thanks for the info. I know the tail and tank are different, so it would make sense that the side covers would be different too. I just got outbid on the shaft side cover, so that worked out nice!
