Don't pay a dime more than what the parts off of this thing are worth to you.
This kind of thing shows up on this thread regularly.
Personally, I would pass on the whole thing.

bottom line, i guess, is this...is it a bad idea to put this engine into this frame? what are the possible negative implications?

Here's my mess I sold for $1000 a couple years ago.
Here it is after the new owner ruined it with a repaint :laugh:
I'll have to admit this time repaint definately was good on this roach of a 900LTD
321,000 miles on KZ's that I can remember. Not going to see any more.
