1980 LTD 1000..,1976 LTD 900, have the 1000&900 now. the rest are previous= 1978 KZ 650 B.., 1980 Yamaha XT 500..,1978 Yamaha DT 400.., 1977 Yamaha yz 80..,Honda trail ct 70.., Honda QA 50...5-1/2 hp brigs & straton CAT chopper mini bike...3-1/2 hp mini bike (WHEN GAS WAS ABOUT 45 CENTS A GALLON)!!!!

is the fluid level the same on all of the forks from 76-80 KZ 1000 ?

180cc to 188cc on fully drained / empty fork. Use SAE 10W20

10-4, I just wanted to make sure that the forks were all the same,for 76-80. ...thanks.

Factory specs for fork oil levels vary among different models.
For example --
Fork oil level per FSM measured from top of tube:
Z1 should be 455 mm, equal to approximately 17 15/16"
KZ900 @ 16.7"
1977 KZ1000 @ 426 mm
1978 KZ1000 @ 420 mm (16.5")
1979 KZ1000 @ 441 mm (17.4")
Would suggest being guided by the FSM as to each particular model.
FSM also provides refill volumes for both wet refills and dry refills.
Good Fortune!
