problem with moving the throttle was created by joshjones84
after installing my clubman bars, it seems that the throttle will not move free at all. i have the 7/8" bars. what can i do to solve this problem? should i try stripping the paint off the handle bars?
and also, when i have the throttle off the bars, it moves freely. i lubed them up before putting them on.

I would make sure that nothing is binding in the throttle mechanism itself. I had an issue like this once and it was the cable had somehow worked its way out of the slot inside the throttle and was keeping it from rotating. Once I got it in right it was fine. I'd also make sure that there's no kinks in the cable due to the way they are routed and lastly check on the carb end make sure that nothing is binding on that end. Since it's working off the bars there may be some binding when it is tightened down. I'd install it loosely and make sure that it rotates before tightening it down and check to see if there is an issue of it being too tight and binding the mechanism when it's tightened down.

i ground off the paint on the handle bars and took a dremel to the inside of the throttle handle. it works great half way up handle bars but once it goes past half way, it does the same thing. like its dragging on something. i want to get my bike running this week but if i dont get this problem solved, i cant!!!! its way to dangerous to let this issue go. i was wondering if anyone has put a 4 wheeler throttle on a kz. could i do it with one throttle cable hooked to my carbs?

You could hook it to a Thumb throttle, you only need one cable, preferably the Pull cable. Make sure you get enough for full throttle.
It should be easy to get the Original throttle to work on the new bars, I've never seen one hang up like you say.
Don't ride it without the throttle returning, even running it could be bad if it over rev's.

Does your throttle housing have a nub on it that went into the hole in old bars!!

Ran into the same problem. Turned out that my new bars were rusted internally, and that rust had worked its way onto the inside of the throttle tube. Repeated washing with a bottle brush eventually cleaned it up.
