May use the link in my signature for help with navigating kawasaki.com, which says the axle is an "inactive" part (which usually means no longer available through Kawasaki dealers), and says the castle nut remains "active."
These parts are sometimes listed on ebay, where searching for a particular part number is often helpful.
I don't know where the existing axle and nut came from.

The ideal solution would be to obtain and install the "correct" rear axle, castle nut, and cotter pin (or better yet, a hitch clip pin).4TheKZ1000 wrote: my rear axle has no cotter pin hole. It also dosent have a castle nut???????? what do I do loctite it. seems dangerous to me....

Mine is the same way and it has a nylock nut on it and it's been fine for the last 4 years. I just make sure to check it periodically to make sure that it's not working loose. I've ridden like this for over 30K miles with no issues.

A shaft drive bike has no adjustment slots for where a chain drive bike does. If you have a chain, get the correct axle and nut/ cotter or hitch pin. For safety more than anything else. You don't want the axle coming loose that's for sure.

If it is a shaft drive, then the axle you have should be correct, no castle nut, just a self locking.
