KZ1000 rear hub and disk brakes help please was created by sled
Gday
I am having trouble getting a 77-78 kz1000 (z1000 rear hub) for my GS1100 swingarm swap. I cannot locate one over here at all
I am wanting to put a 160 tyre in the GS swingarm and use a disk hub on my 76 KZ900, think there will be clearence issues if i use the drum. Anyway not many guys in the states will ship to Sydney, Australia. I see a few hubs from early 80s model KZs on fleabay are these the same??? I don't think they are they look like they are for a mag wheel. Are there any other wire spoke model disk hubs i could consider.
If anyone has one and is willing to sell it please let me know.
cheers Jason

I have a 3.50 X 18 (disk)not drum spoked rim on mine. the tire is a 150 70 18. The chain clears the tire by a 1/4 inch or less in 100% stock trim.
A 160 will cause problems for sure, but they could be addressed...so be aware if you go down that road. I would say that the chain will be impeded by the tire sidewall....you will need to space the sprocket and or run a front counter shaft extended sprocket. Some pics of my tire rim combo.
