Okay so after hunting this forum, others, and the the net I've yet to get a definitive answer. I want to install different clipons on my 1981 kz440 (I currently have a set on now). What I need to know is, do I need to jack the bike up? If so can I just use fork and swing arm stands or do I need a jack to go under the frame?
Thank you for any and all help.

No. You just remove the bog bolt on top, and loosen the big pinch bolt along with the two small fork clamp bolts, and the top clamp should just lift off. The lower clamp will hold the weight of the front end.
If you have gauges, they probaby have to come off too, and you may have to undo the throttle and clutch cable if they don't have enough slack to slide off the bars.

Oh sweet, that will take a lot less time and money then! Luckily my gauges are mounted to my headlight so no worries there. Thank you loudhvx!
