Hi all, i recently purchased an 84 kz 700 & i noticed it has valve stems on top of the front forks, i was curious what air psi ranges are recommended & what the proper way to inflate is also.

It is a low-pressure system...6-8 lbs pressure...use a bicycle pump...compressed air will quickly overwhelm your fork seals (as was suggested by 4thekz1000).

The way I've gone about it is pretty by the book. If you have a good, reliable and (most importantly accurate) compressor, you can use it. Just be certain to dial it down within the pressure spec. The spec I have is for what I imagine non-neglected parts.
It reads:
"Connect a pump to the valve and pump the forks up to about 25 psi.
CAUTION: Do NOT exceed 36 psi or the fork seals will be damaged.
Slowly bleed off the pressure to reach the desired value."
Earlier in the chapter it states that the maximum allowable air pressure difference between the forks is 1.5 psi.
I hope this helps

Check & adjust the air pressure w the front wheel off the garage floor.
Note: the owner's manual has the info. It may be hidden on the underside of the seat in a pull-down document case.
