Do I have a kz900-A4 or a kz900-LTD ? was created by newOld_kz1000
Hi all -- long time no post, hope all is well here, the new site interface is excellent.

I have a kz900 that I'm putting back to stock but I'm not sure from the frame number if I have a 'standard' A4 1976 kz900, or an 'LTD' 1976 kz900.

My frame number is Z1F116xxx -- and all my normal sources that tell me what model I have don't specify whether this is the LTD or the A4 from 1976.

I'm putting her back to stock -- anyone know which version of the '76 kz900 I have here?

Much obliged! Another cool 900 is going back to stock trim.

Did it have a drum brake or disc on rear?
The ltd had a rear disc with mastercylinder mounted up by right rear shock,a 1 off thing for 76 900ltd model.
A kz will have an A in serial number on steering head,Ltd should have a B.
Any pictures? B)

This kz900 is so heavily modified, it has non-stock wheels, master cylinders, footpegs, rear shocks, it's why I'm putting it back to stock, it's a sacrilege to have it this way, I'll try to get photos up here. The frame number is z1f-116xxx, and the final three 'xxx' are numbers, so because there is no 'B' in the frame number, I reckon based on your info there Patton, and thanks for that, I'm putting my money that it is a 1976 kz900-A4 bike. It's so dang heavily modified though, he put a lot of LTD-ish bits on it, it has what look to me like wire wheels with aluminum rims, like off the kz1000 CSR bike of the early 1980s, and dual disc front brakes and again, a CSR-ish back wire wheel with aluminum rim and disc brake, the swingarm is square, oh my gosh. Sacrilege, we're going back in time on this one, shortly.
