need help on correct steering damper length i have 81 ltd1000 it has 5 inches of steering travel stop to stop there are some h1 and h2 dampers on ebay that have 120mm of travel almost 4.75 travel but only 90mm 3.5 from mounting point to point when hooked to the fork bracket it would be 2.5 inches or so from the frame if i move the fork bracket to make it closer seems it will bind with frame just wanting to see if anyone on here runs steering dampers on their bikes to maybe give me some ideas thanks
Steering damper is not supposed to also serve as a steering stop.
The damper should be mounted whereby steering from stop to stop does not cause the damper to rub against any part of the bike.
Good Fortune!
