Good Fortune!
Gets worse.. man this offset issue really has me computing..
520= 5.8mm
525= 7.05
530= 8.74
630= 9.5 (estimated)
That is with me measuring sprockets in stock which they are vortex sprockets.
Taken from the DID website, a 520 VM2 X-ring chain has a 22.95mm outside pin width, while their 520 VT2 X-ring chain is only 18.70mm.
Divide that 520 chain /2 thats 9.5mm, 18-9.5=8.5
the difference of the 520 rear 3.mm that would put me at 114mm .
Minus the 8.5 I can allow before tire rub that would put me at 105.5
105.5 - 85 = 20.5 = 51/64"
4mm over 5/8ths..Doh!
BUT since the 520 chain is thinner I can run 3mm closer to the frame than the 5/8s 530 offset sprocket so if I go with a 19mm offset 520 sprocket I will be 1mm of true which is good enough because I have done some rounding as well.
Leon where are you??? I need a 19mm offset 520 sprocket! :whistle:
Zed I might be second guessing the math. I got a good strait edge today and it got me 25.5mm or 15/16 offset front. *Edit the lazer was around 7/8 to 29/32.

Take one of these, a blank 520 sprocket. Hollow out the middle to desired size.
shop.pbisprockets.com/product.sc?productId=503
Then make an adaptor like these so that puts the sprocket to a negative offset. Get your measurements right and done!

One with ruler and tape measure. Then with the laser and tape measure and laser and calliper. Looks Like I'm good now based on all 3 being inaccurate to some degree 5/8 offset front sprocket = golden! :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo: :woohoo:

Yup!! So with a 5/8's and around 130 whp do you think I will need the outer bearing support? I would bit the bullet if it was cheaper, but man 500 bucks plus shipping is a lot to spend for that.

with as big of a back tire as you are running,and as much offset as you need.
if you plan on launching it hard and letting/making the tire hook,it would be good insurance against an output shaft breaking or damaging the bearing.
if you are just gonna slow roll and do burnouts without ever letting it hook hard you can probably get away without one for a long time.
it's your gambling money,
you feel lucky :evil: ?

Well they closed our drag strip a few years ago so there goes that.. Burnouts aren't my thing so much but if it handles quite a bit better than stock then hooking up would be occurring once I get comfortable with the bike.. Fak! $$$! :pinch: :silly:

Ok D&G makes them for 265 so I can handle that. What's the purpose of the dyno cover? any value in getting that too?
