wireman wrote: Either set would be a vast improvement over ball bearings, just make sure to pack them with grease before installing them.
is there any difference between the two sets though?
i know there is alot of force on the bearings so i dont want to be too cheap but if theres no difference why spend the money

Both are likely steel. The set in the second link are most like likely mfg by All Balls. We use them at my buddy's shop for all steering bearing changes unless the customer provides their own. I have them in my B2 and they are great.

As long as they have grease in them chances are very good either set will out last your bike, the lower bearings are the only ones that carry any kind of load.
They distribute the load a lot better than the stock ball bearings which get pounded into the races causing little "chuck holes"that make steering funky feeling with the ball bearings, that is their main advantage.
So like I said as long as they have good grease in them I don't think youll have problems with either set.

I am guessing you didnt call Z 1 before asking your question,
I just got some bearings and called and asked why so much? Answer from Chris was they changed vendors to All Balls and get better pricing they passed on to consumers.
Z 1 is still fine tuning their on line catalog and welcomed my questions and feedback. Pays to ask on phone about products and things you cant find on line
Hope This Helps
