Caliper Piston - Which Way? was created by skippr76KZ
Hi folks. Not sure which way the caliper pistons go in this 76 KZ900LTD caliper. As you can see from the pic, one end of the piston is smaller and has a groove. The other end is flat. The parts diagram seem to indicate that the smaller, grooved end is what comes in contact with the brake pad. Which is how I have it installed here (minus the brake pad, so you can see.) Does this look and sound right? Thanks for any help.

:P Ok... No reflection on wireman. It's just that these pistons seem to be a little bit different than later model caliper pistons. The way I've put it in seems to be the only way for it to work with these type of pistons. The seal inserts near the top edge of the cavity that retains the piston. The dust boot fits nicely around the groove on or near the top of the piston.
