Thread pitch for KZ1100 steering stem ? was created by Arnold
Hey all,
Anyone know the thread pitch for the steering stem nut ?
The diameteter is 25 mm but what is the pitch ?
I want to find a new, nicer looking steering stem nut for my rebuild.
This is the new stem: (made to fit the origianl nut)
Found this nut that fit 25 mm Suzukis...but does it fit the KZ1100 stem ?
You know of any other steering stem nuts that fit the KZ1100 ?
Thanx,

Metric thread pitch is the distance between peaks of the threads, so use your thickness gauge to measure it (probably 1mm).
Sample metric thread pitch: 1mm, 1.25mm, 1.50mm, etc.

You can't even see the nut under the triple.?. Does it bother you that something unseen doesn't look good? I could see if it was the bolt, but the nut?

Haybus: I´m converting to Yamaha R1 triples and kept the stem from KZ1100. The top nut will be visable for above. Check out my thread for more pics..see my tag line for link.
Steell: You were right the pitch was 1.0 mm
