Help! I'm at the end of my rope here… was created by bl_francis
I need some new rubber for my KZ1000 Police bike.
I read on Wikipedia that they often replace them with Metzelers tires. I wrote to the company and a couple of online store but no dice.
Has anyone put these tires on their bike? Does anyone have any other suggestions?
Thanks!

I have a 1980 Kawasaki KZ750 Ltd. I bought new. I recently managed to get it out of my garage after 28 years and put it on the road again (2010). I feel like a kid all over again. Since I have acquired 3 78 KZ1000 Ltd, 1 1981 KZ1000 Ltd, and another 1980 KZ750 Ltd. Love the LTD's.

Metzelers are very good tires, top of the line. Other good brands are Michelin and Pirelli.

I use Pirelli Sport Demons and like them a lot. Michelins are not as good as they were in the past and not nearly as good as the Pirellis. Avon makes good tires and they may have something that will work especially well for the Police bike. Ed

I was looking at the Sport Demons on my 1000K2, but I couldn't get the exact match for the factory specified size on the front, and didn't want to create any more potential handling issues on a bike that's kinda squirrely to begin with by mounting a 100/90. I just ordered Metzeler Lasertecs, which are available in the 90/90V-19 that my bike required in the front. Motorcycle Superstore has them. Not sure what your size requirements are on the Police bike.

Thanks for the reply. My bike has an 18" rim and I'm not sure what tires to go with for my police bike. :S
