After a couple grand
i.imgur.com/oDrTh4zh.jpg
Top end full rebuild (had a broken piston ring, valve leaks, etc)
New tank, new wiring harness, new controls, new headlight/blinkers, tuned carbs
Last on my list is a voltage regulator, battery, some LED strip lights/blinkers for the back, and lastly A SEAT!
Okay, I have no idea how the original seat went on, and I can't find the documents to show me how, but from what I understand it was a hinge and latch type setup.
I want to go more for a sportster/cafe racer look without new handle bars, but first, I gotta get a new seat. The rack is staying off and that original seat was Jerry rigged to bolt on to the back rack with no fastening on the front.
If I buy this item -
should it fit? I have a hell of a time figuring out which models can swap what because though these bikes didn't have a super long line of production, they sure as shit had a lot of different models...
Anyways, I'll be continuing to customize it after this, but I need a decent seat for the rest of the riding season.
Thanks for all your help.

The 750 LTD four has two seats, driver and passenger.
Parts diagram from kawasaki.com
Edited: Dumb mistake on my part. See below.

Checking with kawasaki.com won't help too much because different seat cover patterns get a different part number regardless of being otherwise identical.
Good Fortune!

yeah, I'm thinking either way, It's gonna take some work no matter if I buy the right seat or the wrong one, I just want to make sure the pan fits snug on the chassis.

Yep, I'm the dummy that's responsible for jumping to conclusions
That seat is for a 76-80 750 twin. I have had an 82 750M, and I know the earlier seat will not fit an 82, but I don't know if it will fit an 83.

It is a 1983 Kz750 LTD K1 - Belt drive Twin
I would really like to find a seat and have it shipped and on the bike by June 8th
Thanks

Maybe you talk this seller into shortening the time on this one?
Or this one is sooner but something about it isn't quite right.

I already contacted the seller on the first one as it is for the exact model and in great condition, and I have to go buy new tires on saturday so when I go to the shop I'll check and make sure the previous owner didn't grind the brackets off the frame, and if he did, the seller agreed to cut his off and send them for $20 extra.
Thanks for the info Bro.
Nice to know there are still helpful people here.
Thanks for the heads up
