A replacement master cylinder with exactly the same size bore as the stock master cylinder should produce the same braking performance.
A replacement master cylinder with a bore smaller in size than the stock master cylinder should produce more sensitive brake performance when squeezing the front brake lever, that is to say producing more powerful braking with the same squeeze.
A replacement master cylinder with a bore larger in size than the stock master cylinder should produce less sensitive brake performance when squeezing the front brake lever, that is to say producing less powerful braking with the same squeeze.
Kawasaki large fours with a single front disc were produced with a 14mm bore master cylinder.
When dual front discs were introduced, Kawasaki increased the master cylinder bore size to 5/8".
Kawasaki also provided the larger 5/8" bore master cylinder as part of the factory kit offered for adding a second front disc to single disc models with the stock 14 mm bore master cylinder.
Good Fortune!

12.7mm should be close enough, IMHO.Bkirk24 wrote: Mostly everything I'm finding on ebay has the bore diameter at 12.7mm and fits 7/8 bars. Is it okay to be over 12.5mm by 0.2mm?
You can probably go with one that's ~14mm which I think is an either or size (single or dual disk),
but I'd stay close to 12.5mm. ~16mm would be for a dual disk.

It's a 14 mm bore but works fine, I did some hard braking today with no problems. 12.7 would be ideal for a single caliper but 14 is pretty close. Also the banjo bolt was really snug so I'm using the old bolt.
PROS: It fits the bar well, the mirror drops right in and the brake switch works well.
CONS: you have to build your brake switch adapter, it only comes polished aluminum, only comes level so won't work with original ape hanger bars.
