Z1 enterprises .com call there help line and order in person..it sucks trying to use their site for these two items...p.s they are the same for 50 kawasaki models..not just kz1000...same as the ones you need...they will have it at your door in days for under 20 bucks...p.s buy a few oil filters as the shipping is the same and they have good ones cheap

I remember a Federal recall back in 1981 or 1982 about that retaining bolt loosening up and falling out on the KZ1000 J's, CSR's, and the LTD's. Thats when that recall kit came out. I remember the service department installing them. Make sure you use some Loctite on the bolt.
Too bad Kawasaki did not keep their tried and true counter sprocket nut and locktab that worked great from 1973 to 1980 on all the 900's and 1000's!!!
Funny thing the 1982 KZ1000S1 road racer came with the old style counter sprocket nut, locktab, and threaded output shaft, and not that newfangled mounting bolt system.

I've been a member for a bit less than a year and I'm continually amazed by the assistance provided by one member to another. Guys like Patton, 650ed and MartinCSR always seem to be there answering questions and offering guidance. Furthermore, I don't think I've ever seen anyone not be civil to another member. What a change from some of the car-related forums I frequent.
