Modern Fork Swap

Wondering if anyone on here has put a modern front end on a KZ400 or similar bike? And if so, what all was involved.
Forks come with a upper triple, but no lower. So I would have to have that manufactured. (Note: My grandpa is a machinist)
Points of concern/question...
1) Making my wheel fit
2) Mounting my brake caliper
3) Triple tree

If your front end is of a 600, check KZr classified for sale.
I plan on doing a swap on my bike as well.

Cognito Moto
He happens to be currently providing parts to easily graft most years GSXR front ends on our older bikes. Im about to send him my lower triple to have him press in his new stem (measurements show it will work on my '78 650).
He's a super cool guy, drop him a line if you have any questions.

BohicaBob wrote: You might be able to purchase the required bearings from ALL BALLS RACING in order to make the swap of front forks without the need for stem swaps. I installed a '99 ZRX1100 front fork triple tree on my '78 KZ1000/A2 just by purchasing the correct bearings and adding three homemade shims between the '78 KZ1000 top triple tree's original steering stem cone and the '99 ZRX1100 top triple tree's 25mm nut:
Bob, do you have any idea what bearings you bought, and were they in a kit from All Balls? I don't see where we can send Private Messages now. I'd like to see how this worked out for you. Do you have a build thread or any more pics of your swap?

Thank you and regards,
