The bike is essentially complete now. The only thing I'm waiting on are front brake lines I had to have custom-made. I ordered some from Galfer and they sent me two of the custom rear lines (only ordered one!) and not the front lines, so as of now I only have rear brakes.
I tried shaving down the seats by myself to give it a bit more of a sleek look but it still has that ghastly LTD shape to it. There is a company that makes the café seat for it, but they charge $210 for the seat and a ridiculous $90 for shipping. I know I should just pay for it, but I can't bring myself to pay for that kind of shipping. Maybe eventually I'll suck it up and do it but it pisses me off.
I was very apprehensive when I went to start this bike, again for the first time in years, because I had put in stage III Dynojet kit, after completely disassembling the carbs. I also completely disassembled the head, and removed as much carbon as I could from the combustion chamber and also very reground the valve seats, ever so slightly. I did a mold porting/polishing of both the intake and exhaust ports, and I installed a set of Web street cams that I found on eBay that someone had bought for the project but realize they didn't work on a turbo set up.
But my fears were set aside when it fired instantly the first time I tried to start it. I just had to balance the carbs again with my Mercury Morion Pro manometer and even the suggested mixture setting by Dynojet was spot on after I checked each of the cylinders with my Gunson colortune kit.
I even got the knockoff Koso instrument cluster to work, although the tachometer portion of it is not working properly (not accurate). everything else including the speed and even the fuel tank levelis fine. I think I just got a bad one, so I might roll the dice on buying another one that I have my eye on.
Pics aren't uploading (too big) so you can see them here on my tumblr

It would look awesome with the Henry Abe air cleaner on it though, if I can find boots that will fit both the carbs and the box. The KZ1000 boots are too long and have funky dog legs to them.

These are the guys. They make the seats in Vietnam and ship them here, so a large portion of the cost is the shipping. I'm looking forward to receiving mine soontallmangram wrote: Hey could you tell me where this $300 seat maker is? I am not going to open that can of worms and make a custom one. Thanks
