I'm wondering if we could start a page/directory on components used for building a street fighter ?

Maybe what year bike the parts are going on and what bike the parts were scavenged from along with a link your street fighter builds only ?

No need to tell the story just a quick reference we could have handy for future builds.

I would also like to ask the forum members that can and will make mods to please stand up,please stand up .

What do you guys think :woohoo:

03 ZX6 swingarm, mostly drop in with machined bearing spacers.
Rearset adapter plate to mount rearsets to stock KZ location
Machined/welded offset front sprocket
Machined Cush hub, machined rear wheel spacers, offset rear brake disk.
Machine drop upper triple and bar mounts
Shaped LTD seat foam with carving knife and sander/grinder, had it upholstered.
Russ Collins 4-1 exhaust painted black with Duplicolor header paint.

Patton, I'm not asking for any free advertisement. I'm simply asking guys like a few on the forum that have themselves done and or assisted others in machining parts for building a street fighter bike to speak up if they have interest or desire to help others. Is that prohibited on here ?? Cause I sure don't want to get in any chaos or cause anyone else any.

Not prohibited so long as the speaking up doesn't solicit sale of a part or service.

Thanks Patton,I understand.

What forks are the longest on converting front ends ? And is it possible to get a spoked wheel that's taller than the crotchet rocket wheels.

I need a physically bigger bike. I'm a big dude and don't want to look like a monkey humping a football going down the road.

In regards to fork length, I can tell you that Buell isn't the way to go if you want MORE fork (or to keep it close to stock). Converting to the Buell dropped my front ride height by ~3.5 inches (but I was aiming for that)

Planning mine out right now:
1983 GPz550
'97 zx7r front forks with stem swap
'08 zx6r swing arm
no wheels yet, but planning on 05+ zx6r wheels front and rear with matching brakes
kz650 tail and ducati monster led tail light

while I am going with zx7r forks I think it's widely accepted that zx9's have the longest USD forks for swaps.

Then go buy a Goldwing  Seriously, raising the bike won't make it look any bigger. I'm 6'6" and look like a circus bear on a mini cycle riding my KZ, but who cares. I've had people ask if they make any bigger bikes, when I'm riding the Hayabusa :woohoo: It is what it is.

Fully agreed with Al here- you can only build up so much. And even when you do, proportions start to slip and make other things look out of place.
