hi all! i'm building a cafe racer from KZ750ltd shafty and i want the top yoke without risers. would the one from gpz fit, considering center to center anf offset? and yes i know that gpz legs are 37mm. or maybe from another model, but i want to keep the original lower yoke and legs.

found '82 gpz750's upper yoke which is 36mm and same center to center between legs but obviously bigger offset wtf!?

This may sound like a stupid question, but why don't you just cut the lower riser part off and file/mill it flat and repaint? You already own the part and it fits.....

naturally i'd done that if it'd have been possible (and desirable a lot) but the buggers structured like an egg box so once the mounts are milled off, holes open instead and all material left is too thin for welding, the detail would be warped for sure
im also against fabbing a billet yoke cause i believe that a cafe racer needs autentically looking details unlike say a streetfighter

750Ltd triple trees are kinda straight across. Standard models' are kinda angled forward. If you want to use the GPz part, you're probably going to have to use the bottom triple as well, but there may be other fitment issues, such as the calipers, headlight, & meters. In general when installing fork stuff from a different bike, it's usually recommended to change out the entire front end.

yup mine are not raked and yup i thought about buyin both yokes if i'd find them at a fair price. i dont think there'd be issues with calipers and headlight as the center to center is the same. as for the dashboard, im gunna modify it so fabbing new mounts aint a problem. buying a complete front end is out of question, it would ruin the project - building a cafer using as much stock details as possible. moreover i've bought already a set of legs instead of pitted ones
