Which Seat? was created by david-b
Hey all;
Long time no post here, I blame winter! However, the bike has a new home and sleeping well. Been starting her up every now and then while the winter passes away and now getting ready to start putting some work into her before spring comes.
At the end of last season, we discovered here that my bike is a KZ750-H3 LTD, not a GPZ... just dressed up to look like one. Now, the seat that's on there is GPZ seat, but obviously doesn't fit right. I'm looking for a seat, and I just want to make sure that the rest of the seats (like the Spectre) are all the same seats. Looking at the models numbers they are, but just want to verify.
Seems like the Spectre has a different cover on it.
Thanks guys!

When comparing part numbers, be sure to use the full part number, not the diagram drawing reference number. I don't think the Spectre seat will have the same part number as the 750H Ltd. It may fit, but I wouldn't assume it does... it may not?
For direct fit I believe you can use the seat from any 750H Ltd or 650H CSR. I put an 82 750H seat onto my 81 650-CSR - it was a direct fit. One or two of the 750H models came with a 2-piece tandem seat.

Thanks. I will keep looking for those seats then.
These things are hard to find, not liking this.
Anyone need a GPZ seat though?

No eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationNo eBay APP ID and/or Cert ID defined in Kunena configurationAfter doing some comparisons, your best bet is to get a 750H or 650-CSR seat.
There are quite a few Spectre & Ltd-Shaft seats listed on eebbaayy, but those will take some modification to work, as the hinges n stuff are not in the correct locations.
Listed as a 79, but it is from a 1980 750H model. .
This one is missing 2 or 3 dampers & the seat stopper.

Thanks for the links and info Martin. I've been searching on ebay and seen most of the ones you posted.
My next question: The gas tank I have is a GPZ tank which of course doesn't have the same mounting as the LTD frame has. I made a little bracket that connects the horizontal mounting point on the frame to the vertical mounting point on the tank. It's holds it on there perfectly. With this being the right seat for that frame now, is the tank going to be getting in the way at all of the seat, so do the GPZ and LTD seat all sit around the same location on the frame?

Sorry on the late reply, been really cold here.
Finally got the seat in and it's a definite fit, so happy about that. But now the GPz tank to too big to accept the proper seat, so will have to buy a new tank as well. If anyone needs a GPz gas tank, I got one.
Pics of the GPz seat below.
The cover is a replacement, held on by staples from the previous owner. No mounts, no rubber pads, shown as is.
