Hey all ive had a few people tell me my monoshock is not strong enough.....
I still plan to weld a 6mm plate from the where the shock eye bolts in, up both brackets to the frame to stop it twisting.
What are your opionions?

AIR CORRECTOR JETS FOR VM CARBS AND ETHANOL RESISTANT VITON CHOKE PLUNGER SEAL REPLACMENT FOR ALL CLASSIC AND MODERN MOTORCYCLE CARBURETTORS

I would weld a plate across the top of both your angle brackets to box them in .
Then bring a tube up from close to the shock eye and fix the other end to the short frame cross tube at the rear of the tank.
The mount will be triangulated and the suspension forces will then be transmitted through the back bone tube up to the headstock.
That set up will be very strong, will not twist and you could then lose a lot of material in the form of some well placed holes from those big angle side plates for lightness.

My monoshock was set up by a motorcycle engineering company.
And it's half the size.
Sorry having trouble trying to prove it with a pic.

no way in hell you would ever have trouble with that mount .(short of a wreck)
having said that the mods that zed1015 suggested would add a huge safety factor(and coolness with the lightening holes:)but the tube he mentions feeding into the backbone therefor the head stock can really help tie the whole bike front and back together with only the addition of a few inches of light walled tube.

thanks guys! i was pretty confident in it myself but started to second guess myself when the keyboard haters
started putting doubt in my mind.
like Zed1015 mentioned i will be putting plate on top like this:
i was trying to avoid bars up to the back bone as i want to use the area above the shock mount for all the electrics, so maybe something like this? still has the sideways bracing and some upwards too?

You won't need those side tubes if you put in that top plate.
Your mount looks overkill and bomb proof and just needs some cosmetic improvement/detail.
This is my cafe's shock mount, strong and light
With some gussets added later to spread the load.

Armchair guy here! I don't think sideloads or twisting will be a problem with your original plan. I don't think tubes to the side will do much for you. Looks good to me.
