Trying to make the 78 frame work would be crazy, the seat mounts are far far different
my bikes; 80kz1000(project), 77 gl1000, 74 h2 (project)

My extra frame is not a j, its a 78.Thanks for the headsup on that.The only tubing that is hacked is:
the top tube, where it would normally meet up with the crossover portion where the front of the seat would rest he replaced with some tubing that at the end, near where the front of the seat sits,he put about 2 inch long
square tubing stilts under it to raise the tank up in the rear.This of course made him have to create a new battery box out of square tubing.The tray slides into it as it should.All the side pieces, neck, rear of the frame, have never been touched.
