GPz1100A1 suspension sleeves was created by rsvfletch
Hi does any one have a set of the hardened sleeves that go into the needle roller bearings on the shock linkage? Mine are shot and i can't find any. I would normally machine another set but as they are case hardened it's out of my league!

Take a look at the diagram below. Which pieces do you need? Ed

OK. The sleeve marked 42036 is still an “Active” Kawasaki part, so any dealer can order it for you. Z1Enterprises (Z1E) should be able to get it for you for around $15 or so. The other two sleeves (marked 42036A and 42036B) are no longer available from Kawasaki. I looked through the usual online parts houses but was not able to find anyone with part number 42036-1072 or 42036-1075. You may want to check with Z1E to see if those parts are still available in Japan. A while back Jeff was kind enough to order a part for me that was available in Japan but not in the US. It took a while, but it was well worth the wait. If they cannot get the parts and if no one else has them you may need to take your old parts to a machinist and have him replicate them. Ed

Back in the late 90's Jeff ordered a cable for my 81 KZ750E that was not available in the states.
Took a while, but cemented my loyalty to Z1.

how about machining out the sleeves and then doing your own heat treating?
(i.e. heat until cherryred and dunk in used engine oil, brine water, your favorite solution of ??????)

That's an option I'm just not sure how hard they'd need to be?

Cheers guys I'm leaning towards making a few out of stainless so that I have spares. It's not my main bike so it won't get hammered too much!!
