Tire interchangeability? '78 KZ750 was created by pazzadelivery
I am riding on a 1978 KZ750b, and the back tire is completely bald so it is time for a new one. It looks like my current rear tire is a Bridgestone "Battlax" with a 140/80V18. I would get a direct replacement, but these tires new are $140 and up which is out of my budget. Are there any other good tires/brands that would work instead of this bridgestone?

I don't know a whole lot about tires, what does 120/18 mean?

Probably somebody installed an over-sized fat tire on a stock rim, which is ill-advised

And IMO looks out of sorts.

Good Fortune! :)

I run a 110-90-18 on the rear of my 750B, it's a shade skinny. 120-90-18 is probably better.

Dunlop makes some cheap but decent street tires. Cheng Shin also makes some decent street service tires if you aren't worried about performance too much.
