KZ750E Kickstand hitting footpeg? was created by Nessism
When in the retracted position the kickstand spring smacks into the bottom of the LH footpeg. Doesn't even get close to the stop position on the frame. Is this normal?
EDIT: once again I messed up. Looked at some older photos and I have the footpegs switched side to side.

It seems the Edit in his topic post indicates that he kinda goofed, but found the problem.
PS: it looks like a heckuva 750E project.

Yeah, I messed up. Easy fix at least.
Bought some new footpegs with the latest and greatest superseded part number, but can't get the pin to go though. Have to compress the rubber too much. Going to have another go but wondering now if I'm just having another brain fart?

Maybe the footrests needs matching dampers?

Not following you on "matching dampers". Care to explain? I do need some new shocks, but not sure that's what you mean?
I switched the pegs around last night and all is right with the world again; the kickstand has plenty of room to retract now.
Tried the new Step-Assy parts again and they are a no-go (they don't fit on the metal "BRACKET"s).
Step-Assy 34028-1018 was superseded by 34027-5062. This particular part number replaces the following (according to the parts fishe, but not in reality it seems).
34027-1102 STEP-ASSY,FR,LH
34027-1103 STEP-ASSY,FR,RH
34027-1104 STEP-ASSY,FR,LH
34027-1105 STEP-ASSY,FR,RH
34027-1110 STEP-ASSY,FR,LH,BLACK
34027-1111 STEP-ASSY,FR,RH,BLACK
34028-1002 STEP,FOOTREST,L.H
34028-1003 STEP,FOOTREST,R.H
34028-1017 STEP,FRONT FOOTREST
34028-1018 STEP,FRONT FOOTREST
34028-1019 STEP,FOOTREST,FR,L.H.
34028-1047 STEP,FR,LH,BLACK
34028-1048 STEP,FR,RH,BLACK
34028-1292 STEP,FR,LH
34028-1293 STEP,FR,RH
If anyone want s brand new set of 34027-5062 Step-Assy parts, let me know. They are not usable on my bike.

Since you got new footpegs w a superseded part number, I was thinking they could be slightly different from the stock footpegs & maybe use different dampers?
