Word I get is that the braided are stronger, therefore less tendency to "bulge" slightly when pressure is applied, more pressure goes to caliper, resulting in firmer braking...(and they're "purdy")

They are a good up grade and I'm not sure that you can even get oem any more and if you can are they thirty + years old?
I went with the black plastic coated ones through Z1E, they look similar to stock only skinnier .and I like them.
